Artie Lange Suicide Attempt

NY Post is reporting that the baby gorilla attempted suicide.

Troubled comic Artie Lange landed in the hospital after stabbing himself nine times in an apparent suicide attempt, sources told The Post. Lange’s frantic mom called 911 Saturday morning after she entered his Hoboken apartment and found the bloodied funnyman, a law-enforcement source said. Lange sustained six “hesitation wounds” and three deep plunges. A source close to Lange’s management team confirmed that the Howard Stern sidekick stabbed himself, adding that his mother had come to visit him that day to drop off food. Surgeons managed to save Lange despite heavy bleeding. “We all have our demons,” Stern said on-air this week, referring to Lange’s past battles with addiction. “Artie has given this show tremendous moments of great comedy. He’s a tremendous contributor. He is a good man. Don’t forget how great he is.”

More details as I find them.

Doom Classic for iPhone is out, and all the old cheats work.

I just downloaded it, so I don’t have much of a review, other than that initial impressions are fucking fantastic. You can access the cheat menu by putting four fingers on the screen and holding for a second, a keyboard pops up, and you can enter all the old classic Doom cheats. IDDQD for god mode, IDKFA for all weapons/ammo, etc.

Artie Lange – Too Fat to Fish

I finished Artie’s book the other day, and finally got a little time to write a review.

Overall, I liked it a lot. It wasn’t exactly perfect from a literary standpoint, in that it’s more a collection of stories than a cohesive story overall, but then again I doubt anyone is expecting it to be. All of Artie’s stories are very entertaining, some are even touching, and Anthony Bozza does a good job of capturing Artie’s “voice”. If you go into it knowing what to expect, a collection of Artie’s stories, you’ll likely be very pleased. I was.

Forty pages into Artie Lange’s “Too Fat to Fish”

And I’m fucking amazingly impressed. I swear this is the last time I’ll talk about it until I do a full review. Buy it on Amazon.

Just a teaser for now, still at work. As soon as I get home and all, I’ll do some gameplay videos and upload them. Here’s a screen.

Needless to say, my productivity today is not so great.

Mr Show – The Complete Collection

I just ordered it on Amazon for $45.

I’m a big fan of David Cross, so I figured I would grab Mr. Show to compliment Arrested Development.

Mr Show is like Saturday Night Live, except funny. And unedited, as it originally aired on HBO.

Sirius Satellite Radio

I recently took a road trip from Memphis, TN to San Diego CA. I have to say that the only thing that kept me remotely sane was my satellite radio. Music gets old, even with a whole Ipod full, and local radio stations last an hour at best. I picked up a cheap plug and play Sirius Radio and installed it in around 15 minutes. For people who drive long distance, I would place this somewhere between the internal combustion engine and the wheel in terms of usefulness.

Since it’s satellite based, and not reliant on local towers, you can listen to any station from one side of the country to the other. This means you can zone out on Howard Stern for 6 hours, then flip to NPR and kill another few hours with Talk of the Nation and Fresh Air. Not that anyone would be strange enough to combine those two tastes. Certainly not me.

Arrested Development – Complete Season Box Set

I just noticed the boxed set of the entire three series run is now available on Amazon.

I’m not a big TV guy at all, but this entire series is brilliant. Every character is interesting, every story line is entertaining while being somewhat realistic.

It’s a David Cross project, who also did Mr Show, a sketch comedy show on HBO. He plays an out of work psychiatrist, and likely closeted homosexual.

The show chronicles a wealthy family that loses most of their wealth when the head of the family is arrested for a laundry list of white collar crimes.

I’ve watched this series all the way through at least 4 or 5 times, it has an amazing rewatch factor. The writing is great, and the actors do an amazing job of character development. Aside from David Cross, it features Michael Cera of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and Portia De Rossi, Ellen’s wife.

It’s a relatively quick watch, at only three seasons. I highly suggest you check it out. It’s honestly one of the best sitcoms I’ve ever seen.

Sig says: Buy it! Buy it now!
