Sirius Satellite Radio

I recently took a road trip from Memphis, TN to San Diego CA. I have to say that the only thing that kept me remotely sane was my satellite radio. Music gets old, even with a whole Ipod full, and local radio stations last an hour at best. I picked up a cheap plug and play Sirius Radio and installed it in around 15 minutes. For people who drive long distance, I would place this somewhere between the internal combustion engine and the wheel in terms of usefulness.

Since it’s satellite based, and not reliant on local towers, you can listen to any station from one side of the country to the other. This means you can zone out on Howard Stern for 6 hours, then flip to NPR and kill another few hours with Talk of the Nation and Fresh Air. Not that anyone would be strange enough to combine those two tastes. Certainly not me.
